Located south of Puntarenas lies Playa Tivives, an untouched and idyllic beach which has many relaxing features for those wishing to vacation here.  Be warned however, that this location is only for those who want peace and quiet!

You could choose from activities such as horseback riding along the beautiful beach, fishing in the waters or just go for a long peaceful walk on the beach. Playa Tivives is also a perfect spot for surfing.

The surf quality here is very good with consistent waves to suit all surfers.  It has a beach break which peaks on both the left and the right.  Rides are very powerful and can sometimes reach up to 300 meters in length.  The average length however, is between 50 and 150 meters.  Suitable in all tides, the waves here can reach up to and over ten feet.  It is quite remote here and if you intend to visit Playa Tivives to catch some waves, be prepared for the lack of shops, restaurants or places to stay.
