Rio Claro is a virtually isolated surf spot which can be reached by boat from Sierpe.  It is adjacent to Corcavado Jungle Camp in the Drake Area.  Rio Claro is only suitable for experienced surfers due to the dangers of sharks, rocks and urchins.

There is a reef-rocky break here which gives fast, powerful, hollow rides, about 150 meters in length.  If you are lucky enough to be here on a good day you could expect to ride the waves for about 300 meters.  Waves can reach up to and over six feet in height and the swell direction comes from the south.  Best surfing conditions are on a mid to high tide.  It is very isolated here and you would not expect to find many people surfing here either on the weekends or during the week.
