Off the western coast of the Nicoya Peninsula, lies Playa Coyote, a remote beach which has immaculate sands and is another example of the stunning beaches found in the Guanacaste province. It is a 4×4 access to Playa Coyote due to the last 35 kilometers of gravel rough roads which become even more difficult during the rainy season. Playa Coyote is situated between Playa Manzanillo and Playa Samara and is a beautiful, yet secluded spot.
If it is a paradise you are looking for then Playa Coyote has everything to offer, from the pristine sandy beach, bordered by tropical coconut trees, to the monkeys and fantastic birds which gather along the shore. It truly is a tropical paradise and is said to be one of the finest beaches in Costa Rica. It is the perfect idyllic location for a romantic holiday.
With a mostly low tide, the sea here is suited for good swimmers but if there is a medium 6 foot swell and during dry season, further north it can provide really good quality surfing conditions which are particularly suitable for all surfers. The beach break and right and left waves make for powerful, slow waves on a medium to full outgoing tide. This is not a busy surfing spot due to the fact that it is so remote but for those wishing to view paradise, then Playa Coyote is a must.
