For surfers, the regional classic surf is suitable for those with any degree of experience and the consistent beach breaks have become a huge draw among the surfer crowd. With waves coming from a left and right direction and a completely sandy sea bed, it provides perfect fun rides for the less experienced. Wave lengths will normally range from between 50 and 150 meters but have been known to stretch as long as 300 meters.
The swell direction varies between north westerly, westerly and south westerly and the wind comes in from the east. Waves here can reach heights of over ten feet. The surfing here can be done on any tide which makes it a popular choice of location.
This beach is quite easy to locate and is very near to Playa Nosara. Guinoes beach is long, covered with fine sand and a background of lush forest that rises on hills, offering paradisiac views from their top.
Playa Guiones offers tranquility, plenty of waves and consistent breaks that make surfers of all levels happy.
It is usually very quiet here during the week but the weekend crowd is also much less than other surfing spots so it makes a good choice if you are looking to get some surfing done in peace. Another reason to visit Playa Guiones is the amazing ocean views and the beautiful sunsets which are a popular draw for honeymooners.
