We work with two of the most reputable car rental services in Costa Rica. Due to our Surfing Vacations Packages we have negotiated great rental prices to the public with Abode and Thrifty Costa Rica. Renting your vehicle directly with us is more affordable than renting it directly with the rental company with the same advantages.

As common in most countries to rent a car in Costa Rica you’ll need to be at least 18 years or older, have a valid driver’s license and an international credit card for your security deposit.

Both companies offer a GPS rental service with updates and detailed maps of Costa Rica including all the participating hotels in the Surf Voucher vacation, restaurants and points of interests. Additionally a mobile phone rental service with the capability of dialing national and international numbers can be hired with both Adobe and Thrifty. These services have an additional cost over the car rental and can be negotiated directly with us or with the car rental company of your choice.

The prices below are for the general public that would like to take advantage of our more favorable prices and not for the travelers coming with the Surf Voucher package. The SUV rental is included in your Surf Voucher vacation price, only a credit card security deposit will be required upon your arrival which is deposited and managed directly by either Adobe or Thrifty Costa Rica.

1. When the driver has any incident and is under the influence of alcohol or drugs

2. When the vehicle suffers damages and the driver is not authorized in the rental contract

3. Damages of any type caused by driving  thru rivers,lakes, beaches,flooded roads or off-road

4. Fail in the obligation to provide Adobe Rent a Car the accident report given by the Dirección General de Tránsito and the accident report with the  Instituto Nacional de Seguros.

5. Fail to report the accident to Adobe Rent a Car immediately after the event takes place

Supplemental damage waiver and  liability insurance with $0 deductible in the case of accident, damage or roll over from $10 to $25 per Day depending on the vehicle

$1.99 Road assistance program included in all rentals. All customers have the right of refusing the road assistance but need to advise at the moment or reserving the vehicle but will have to pay extra fees in the case assistance is needed. The road assistance program covers key replacement, tires change, problems with the vehicle battery and emergency fuel delivery.

$0.95 Daily vehicle license fee added to all rentals

All drivers between 18 and 21 years old can rent up to a mid size vehicle (Daihatsu Bego) and a $10 daily surcharge is required.

GPS Rental: $8 per day. A $250 security deposit by credit card directly with Thrifty car rental is required.

Baby seat rental: US$5 per day. Previous reservation requested

All SUVs rented with our company have the right to complementary roof racks.
